CITIZEN JORDAN
Despite what has been largely reported in the media, Liam Jordan never received New Zealand citizenship and says the only country he is eligible to play for is South Africa. “We never got New Zealand citizenship, even though we lived there for 11 years, because with dad’s illness they never granted it to us. When he passed away they finally said that I could get it, but by then I was in South Africa,” Liam says. “I had to then go back to New Zealand to get it and I didn’t want to do that, so I just left it. It doesn’t really help me in Europe.”
