WORD CUP SETBACK FOR BAXTER!

Kick Off - - FEATURE -

After a great start in his first official match against Nigeria, Stuart Baxter suffered a blow when his side lost back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde. Bafana Bafana opened the scoring through Tokelo Rantie but lost the first contest 2-1 in Praia. The return leg at Moses Mabhida Stadium ended the same, leaving Bafana at the bottom of Group D. To make matters worse, Fifa ordered a replay of the game between Bafana and Senegal, which took place in November 2016, after Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey was found guilty of “unlawfully influencing the result”. This leaves Baxter’s team on a single point with three group matches remaining.
