Oldies must vacate lower leagues

Kick Off - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

Our football will continue going nowhere if we keep employing this strategy of fielding players who failed to make an impact in the PSL. I have been watching many teams playing in the NFD and most of them are using these players. Where is the young blood? Even in the Motsepe League, they are all over there too. We always complain about not seeing Bafana Bafana participate in the World Cup or Afcon, and the blame is always put on the coach, but the problem or mistakes are often made by those who are leading our football structures. The use of these over-age players is holding back our football. These old players must be chased out of these leagues I have mentioned because it’s killing our football. The Mbesumas, Mekoas, Paulses, Chabangus and Elasto Lungus etc. must go back to school in order to revive their careers and not merely pack the NFD and Motsepe League teams because these leagues must be used for developmental structures.
