WHO IS ERZURUMSPOR?

Büyüksehir Belediye Erzurumspor was founded in 2005 in the Turkish amateur leagues, and after three consecutive promotions, finally made their way to the Turkish Super Lig for the first time in their history this season, finishing fifth in the second-tier last term before beating rivals Gazisehir Gaziantep 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in their final play-off encounter. Erzurumspor play out of the 23 700-seater Kazım Karabekir Stadium, located in the Eastern Turkish city of Erzurum. Siphiwe Tshabalala has joined a growing number of African players at the club, including Senegalese midfielder Youssouf Bangoura, Congolese forward Ridge Munsy and Ivorian duo Stephane Acka and Moussa Saib.
