Büyük­se­hir Belediye Erzu­rum­spor was founded in 2005 in the Turk­ish am­a­teur leagues, and after three con­sec­u­tive pro­mo­tions, fi­nally made their way to the Turk­ish Su­per Lig for the first time in their his­tory this sea­son, fin­ish­ing fifth in the sec­ond-tier last term be­fore beat­ing ri­vals Gazise­hir Gaziantep 5-4 on penal­ties after a goal­less draw in their fi­nal play-off en­counter. Erzu­rum­spor play out of the 23 700-seater Kazım Karabekir Sta­dium, lo­cated in the East­ern Turk­ish city of Erzu­rum. Siphiwe Tsha­bal­ala has joined a grow­ing num­ber of African play­ers at the club, in­clud­ing Sene­galese mid­fielder Yous­souf Ban­goura, Con­golese for­ward Ridge Munsy and Ivo­rian duo Stephane Acka and Moussa Saib.
