A SECOND BITE AT THE CHERRY

Ernst Middendorp is not the first coach to have at least two spells as coach of Kaizer Chiefs, joining a list of eight other managers to have sat in the dugout more than once since the club’s inception in 1970. Most recently Muhsin Ertugral had a second stint with the Soweto club in 2009, a decade after his first stint, yet seven other coaches have also sat on the bench on more than one occasion. That unique list includes Jeff Butler, Jack Chamangwana, Ted Dumitru, Thomas Johnson, Eliakim Khumalo, Eddie Lewis and Augusto Palacios.
