TASTE OF YOUTH INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL

Through his Matric year and before he signed his first professional contract, Lehlogonolo Matlou had a taste of international football at youth level. “In 2017 I went to the COSAFA Under-20 tournament in Zambia under coach Thabo Senong and Helman Mkhalele. Coach Thabo was always at our league games while I was at Wits, so he could see me, and he liked me. “However, I missed the first camp because I was injured and for the second, I got in even though I was still writing my final exams. It was difficult because I was studying in camp and they would drive me to write them, after which I would then train with the squad in the afternoon,” he explains.
