Avril Phali
Avril was raw with a great natural ability. He had no intention of turning professional but went on to reach international level. He never had any formal coaching and still turned out to be a great goalkeeper.
Fabian McCarthy
Fabian was a smart defender and what he lacked in pace he made up for in brains. He was not quick but so hard to beat in one-versus-one and he made football look simple and easy.
Clinton Sephadi
‘Spaghetti’ was underrated but a great ball player with energy. I would have loved to see him away from Jomo Cosmos and he was great in dead-ball situations.
Sibusiso Zuma
I played with Sibusiso at SuperSport United and the way he went about his business in a professional manner taught us a lot. He was a great player too.
Denis Lota
The late Denis, I played with him for one season at Swallows and I also learned so much from him. In one second he would be tightly marked and then find himself in space away from defenders.
Essau Kanyenda
Essau is one of the best strikers I played with. At training you would think he was rubbish but on match days he would turn the heat on. He was not a training player but a match player.
