KPH welcomes new senior reporter

The Knysna-Plett Herald is pleased to announce the arrival of Yaseen Gaffar, who has joined the editorial team in a senior journalist position.

Yaseen is originally from Middelburg, Mpumalanga, and comes with solid experience in community newspapers and online journalism, having worked at the Middelburg Observer for 12 years.

He has a keen interest in local government and municipal matters, hard news and investigat­ive reporting, but also covers an array of subjects from sport and entertainm­ent to human interest and business reporting.

“I’m really excited to be in Knysna, to serve this community and to provide a platform through which people from all background­s can express themselves,” says Yaseen.

“My focus will be on fair, factual and unbiased reporting. I have a passion for stories that have a positive impact on the community, and I believe that newspapers play an integral role in bringing about constructi­ve change.
