Witness the revival of Knysna’s art culture

Get yourself to this event. It is a revival, reinvention, renewal. The reopening of the Knysna Art Gallery at The Old Gaol complex on Queen Street is this coming Tuesday 20 February at 18:00.

The Knysna Arts Society under its new committee and chairman Ricardo L van Lingen will be hosting their first exhibition titled “Unblocked”. The committee was appointed late November last year and this exhibition is one of the first steps they are taking to revive and stimulate the once strong art community and culture in Knysna.

Artists were invited to purchase one or more blocks, a 22x22cm wooden square, and get creative. There was no other mandate than to think out of the “block”, so to speak.

At the opening on Tuesday, over 150 blocks will be on display and for sale.
