Bomb sca­re in Knys­na

Knys­na po­li­ce sta­ti­on was clo­sed on Wed­nes­day 27 Ju­ne af­ter re­cei­ving a bomb thre­at. As a re­sult, Qu­een and Mon­ta­gu Streets we­re tem­po­ra­ri­ly clo­sed. SAPS com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons of­fi­cer Ser­ge­ant Chris S­pies said, “Our bomb dis­po­sa­ble u­nit is bu­sy in­ves­ti­ga­ting and we had to e­va­cu­a­te the pre­mi­ses as a pre­cau­ti­o­na­ry me­a­su­re.” The Knys­na fi­re de­part­ment and the T­sitsi­kam­ma Dog U­nit we­re al­so on the sce­ne.

The sta­ti­on was la­ter o­pe­ned and de­cla­red sa­fe. –
