The Pick n Pay Fish Braai Com­pe­ti­ti­on has be­co­me an in­sti­tu­ti­on at the Knys­na Oys­ter Fe­s­ti­val, s­ho­w­ca­sing the be­st of Knys­na’s cu­li­na­ry ta­lent.

This y­e­ar’s win­ners and tit­le of King of the Fish Braai went to Te­am Kol­stert mem­bers Ro­land R­ho­de and Mack Mo­ra­pe, at the com­pe­ti­ti­on’s new ve­nue at Wood­mill La­ne shop­ping cen­t­re. R­ho­de is a for­mer win­ner of the G­reen Chefs Knys­na com­mu­ni­ty cook­ing com­pe­ti­ti­on and his pas­si­on for se­a­food was e­vi­dent. The jud­ges drool­ed o­ver his lig­ht­ly smo­ked y­el­lo­w­tail ac­com­pa­nied by gril­led mushroom fil­led with ba­con and root ve­ge­ta­bles.

1. Te­am Kol­stert: Ro­land R­ho­de and Mack Mo­ra­pe; 2. Te­am Trou­ter Spa­ce: S­hel­don and Jos­hua Du P­les­sis; 3. Te­am U­tash-S­hi­so­nya­ma: Mel­vin Me­ne and Tem­be­la­ni M­bu­de; and 4. Pan­sy Cooks: S­ta­cey F­re­de­ricks and Da­vid Jo­ret­te.
