Media must give credit where it’s due

John Graham, Knysna:

I refer to M-Net programme Carte Blanche (Sunday 8 July) where it was reported, together with visuals, of the disgusting conditions in government healthcare institutions, especially in Gauteng and North West.

I reside in Knysna, and for medical reasons was referred by the clinic to the provincial hospital, and then to George Hospital (private healthcare I can ill afford).

All facilities are immaculately clean and well run, and all medical attendants (doctors and nurses) committed to giving excellent medical care.

I feel the media, while damning badly run and filthy institutions correctly, could also report on those that need applauding.

This could magnify the misuse of state funds in this regard.
