New wheelchairs for Hospice patients
On 20 October, the Knysna Lions Club donated six new, sturdy wheelchairs to transport patients on Tuesdays when they are brought to the Knysna Sedgefield Hospice offices in Hunter’s Home for daycare.
These are such a blessing to us and our patients, thank you, Lions!
Our social worker coordinates daycare and gives our confined patients a chance to get out of the house and to socialise with other patients and our friendly volunteers. They do arts and crafts while there and eat a nutritious meal while having the opportunity to meet with their nursing sister, our social worker, our homebased carers and our doctor all in one place.
If you would like to get involved for just three hours on a Tuesday, please contact Connie at reception on 044 384 0593 for more details
With new wheelchairs donated by Knysna Lions Club, Hospice patients who are normally confined to their homes get the chance to interact with other patients, volunteers and staff.
