Seven bust in drug blitz
The Knysna police conducted a series of operations into illegal drug trading last week that led to the arrest of seven suspects over the past weekend.
Local police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said these operations were aimed at specific drug outlets which included the Waste-by-Rail in the CBD as well as Stroebel and Protea streets in Hornlee. "The operations proceeded to Uniondale Road and Dinangwe where two suspects were arrested during stop-and-search operations after Mandrax were found in their possession," said Spies.
Small amounts of Mandrax and tik were confiscated during these operations.
The suspects aged between 20 and 37 appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Monday 15 July.
