- Nwabisa Pondoyi

Almost a year later, and the two Victor Molosi murder cases are finally progressing towards trial.

Molosi, a Knysna ANC councillor, was gunned down metres away from his home in July last year.

In the one case, former Knysna Taxi Forum secretary Mandla Tyololo is up for conspiracy to murder and his trial will start on 28 October, with 11 and 25 November also having been set aside for the trial. Tyololo remains in custody.

In the other case, three men are up for the murder and their trial has been proposed to start on 7 October for four weeks, but not before a pretrial conference scheduled for 20 August in the George Magistrate's Court. These men are former Knysna councillor Velile Waxa, former Knysna municipal official Mawande Makhala and Cape Town resident Vela Patrick Dumile.

Apart from Waxa who is out on bail, all the accused remain in custody.
