Taint of a beautiful town
Through this letter I hope to bring attention to the authorities concerned with the refuse/garbage disposal in Knysna. I have been visiting your town for several weeks and have come to enjoy and appreciate the warm welcome of the people, beauty of the sites and the overall calm atmosphere – I have absolutely loved my stay.
During a recent visit to the Knysna Heads however, I couldn't help notice overflowing rubbish bins and litter, threatening to ruin all this site has to offer in views, tranquillity and beauty.
Bins closer to the entrance of the walkway along The Heads seemed to have been cleared by garbage collection, or at least those items which hadn't spilt over and did not have to be collected or picked up by hand. As these bins and waste are so close to the water and pose a threat to the sea life as well as the land, I thought it best to highlight the matter.
The beautiful views will always be a reminder of the wonder and little piece of heaven you are fortunate to call home. My wish is that everyone may experience it with the same gratitude and wonder, and that it may be kept clean, protected and preserved for generations to come.
