Knysna has some of Western Cape’s best
KNYSNA - Three local establishments have been nominated as among the best in the Western Cape during the radio station KFM's Best of the Cape competition. According to KFM's website, the annual Best of the Cape competition recognises the local businesses, entrepreneurs, places, people, activities and services that listeners believe deserve public recognition. "These are locals who excel at what they do, are always innovating, always going beyond. Always reminding us why the Cape and its people are so unique," it says. The competition spans a very diverse 30 categories, covering just about everything from the best barber to the best amateur sports team, the best place to sweat, the best takeaway spot, and the list goes on. Nominations opened on 26 July and ran until midnight on 5 August.
Our three local establishments made it to the top five finalists in three different categories. In the 'Best Adventure Experience' category, the adrenalineinducing Knysna Ziplines, which has only been open since September 2020, shines brightly. In the 'Best Pet Friendly Eatery' category, Blend Country Restaurant is also a finalist and the third spot among the province's elite is Blackwaters River Lodge, that is a finalist in the 'Best Wedding Venue' category.
While voting already closed at midnight on Wednesday 25 August, the winners of the competition are not yet known. We will have to sit tight and hold thumbs for our local businessmen and women until 3 September, when the winners of all the categories will be announced live on radio and across all of the station's social media platforms.
