A day of fun and generosity
KNYSNA - Revive Knysna held its very first golf day fundraiser on Sunday 17 September and the event was a resounding success.
Organised by Mandy Stubbs, Ilse van Staden, Jo Velloza and the Revive Knysna ladies, the event was characterised by an informal atmosphere. Weather-wise, luck was also on their side and a beautiful day added to everybody's enjoyment.
The end of the day coincided with South Africa's Rugby World Cup clash with Romania, and like true Bok supporters everyone waited for halftime to carry out the prize-giving.
In first place was the team consisting of legendary South African cricketer Sir Barry Richards, Vanessa Cloete, Keith Ferguson and Barbara Mills. The runners-up were Marina Kok, Eugene Kok, Leslie Bothma and Andrew Jamieson. The third-placed team was Johnny Knight, Kevin Kaplin, Johan Greeff and Verona Terblanche.
There were also separate categories for the ladies and mixed teams. The winning ladies team consisted of Judy Humphreys, Margi Visser, Jessica Pansegrow and Brenda Neale. The mixed four-ball winners were Ciaran Sharrock, Sasha Gunn, Shoni Booysen, and Naomi de Jongh.
Recognising individual achievements, the Nearest to the Pin winners were Ross Macgregor, Sean Mackenzie, Hans Westhof, Tim Reardon and Peter Filmer. Adding to the excitement of the day was a raffle, which boasted an impressive value of R10 000. Lucky winner Hein Giliomee walked away with this amazing prize.
The success of the charity golf day would not have been possible without the overwhelming support and contributions from the local community.
Their generous donations ensured that the winners received exceptional prizes, and more importantly, that Revive Knysna can continue its mission of supporting its workers.
The organisers and participants extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a tremendous success.
