Celebrating 28 years of Vermont
KNYSNA - Vermont Old Age Home's 28th birthday was celebrated at a stately affair at Vermont Hall on Friday 20 October.
Tributes from members of the staff, board and various stakeholders of Vermont Old Age Centre were the order of the day and the centre was honoured for the work it does in caring for the elderly in the community.
The festivities, that included a lucky draw for guests, was broadcast live on EDENfm.
Vermont Old Age Home was established in 1995 by social worker Rhoda Hendricks and others, who recognised a need to have a safe place to care for the elderly in Hornlee. The hall was filled with warmth and gratitude as attendees shared their heartfelt tributes and appreciation for the immense impact that the Vermont Old Age Home has had over the years in improving the lives of seniors.
Members of the staff, who have been the driving force behind the centre's success, were honoured for their commitment and compassion towards the residents. idents.
Representatives from the board of directors also acknowledged ged the significant milestones achieved by the Vermont Old d Age Home and expressed their gratitude to the entire team for their efforts.
"All of us at Vermont want to use this celebration to say thank you for a good deed done," said Vermont board member John Blou.
"When we celebrate Vermont we have to celebrate the trials and tribulations that we have previously faced. This celebration is for the people who continuously work hard to contribute to the success of this centre."
