Sabrina Love celebrates its 20-year-anniversary
This year marks two decades of the Sabrina Love Challenge - a sporting event for a good cause - in Plettenberg Bay.
Each year, the Sabrina Love Foundation turns Plett bright pink for the Sabrina Love Challenge to raise awareness and funds for its work - caring for children with special needs and their families.
This year the event, which has evolved over the years, is celebrating 20 years of summer fun and will include a surf-ski event, beach walks, running events, trail running and cycling events as well as the popular children's events.
"It will be four magical days of cycling, running and beach events to be enjoyed by families and friends in the natural beauty of Plettenberg Bay," organisers said.
"Garden Route locals and holiday visitors look forward to this annual fundraising event that attracts thousands of participants from around South Africa."
The action will kick off on Central Beach on 27 December with a 10km paddle and a beach walk before the same beach and Longstone Park area become the venues for the 17th Discovery Vitality Run series - which includes a 5km and 10km fun run - the following day.
On 29 December, the action will move to the Kurland Private Estate for three mountain biking events including a 10km, a 25km and a 40km route.
The following day it will be the trail runners' turn to tackle some routes at the estate with 6km, 12km and 21km options.
The Sabrina Love Challenge will come to an end on 30 December with the Kids of Steel event, which will cater for U12 and U10 categories. This event will include a run, swim and a natural obstacle course for young athletes.
Participants can enter online at https://www. zsports.co.za/sabrinalove. Check-in and late entries for all events will close strictly 30 minutes prior to event start.
