Forest serenade to enchant

KNYSNA - Music enthusiast­s in Knysna are in for a sublime experience as the SANParks Honorary Rangers present the highly anticipate­d Serenade in the Forest. This enchanting evening of classical music will be held on Sunday 24 March, amidst the tranquil beauty of the Knysna Forest at the King Edward VII Big Tree Diepwalle.

The event promises to captivate attendees with a stellar line-up of accomplish­ed musicians.

Among the featured artists are Elina Koycheva, an exceptiona­l violinist hailing from Sofia, Bulgaria, and Louise Howlett, a soprano and graduate of London's prestigiou­s Royal College of Music. Joining them is the internatio­nally acclaimed tenor Pierre van der Westhuizen and the beloved local saxophonis­t, Jaco Kriek. Adding to the musical brilliance is Albert Combrink, an award-winning pianist who studied under the tutelage of Prof Bernd Goetzke at the Hanover Musik Hochschule in Germany.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 16:00 and will continue until 18:30. The venue provides a picturesqu­e setting that perfectly complement­s the musical experience.

Tickets are priced at R530 per person and include a picnic bag, with a vegetarian option available upon request. Additional­ly, attendees will have access to guarded parking in Knysna and a shuttle service to the venue which will depart from Loerie Park Stadium in Knysna at 15:15.
