ANC provincial chair launches campaign

- Zoë Fick

- On Saturday 13 April, ANC provincial chairperson Vuyiso Tyhalisosu visited Knysna as part of the ANC's election campaign. The aim of the visit was to engage the community, train volunteers, and emphasise the importance of voter conduct and readiness for the upcoming elections.

Upon arrival in Knysna, Tyhalisosu was warmly welcomed at the constituency offices, following which a volunteer launch and training session was held to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve the community effectively.

The session also placed emphasis on the importance of well-trained volunteers who can provide valuable support to voters and address their concerns during the upcoming elections.

Accompanied by ANC leaders in the region, Tyhalisosu conducted a walkabout in the Ward 4 community. This allowed them to talk directly with residents, listen to their needs, understand the challenges they face and get an overview of the community.

The campaign in Knysna concluded with a debriefing session where the ANC leadership reflected on the day's activities, gathered feedback from volunteers, and looked ahead to the upcoming elections.

"I have been meeting with other ANC leaders in the region and we have come to the conclusion that a priority of our

programme is voter conduct and readiness," said Tyhalisosu. "That is why we are taking the time and effort to train our volunteers to serve the voters in the community as the elections come closer."

He further highlighted the importance of ensuring that voters are informed, engaged, and ready to exercise their democratic rights.
