Plett school celebrates new milestones
The event proved to be a resounding success, drawing a significant turnout of eager parents.
PLETTENBERG BAY - Plettenberg Bay’s Legacy House School had reason to celebrate during their annual open day recently, after being given the nod of approval by the Western Cape Education Department.
Legacy House, a school in Longships Drive that offers the IEB curriculum, first opened their doors more than two years ago.
Their official registration with the WCED has been a slow one with zoning issues hampering the process.
This however is all in the past after receiving the necessary permissions from the Bitou Municipality and subsequently the education department.
This milestone was celebrated during an open day at the school on 20 April. “Legacy House School welcomed parents and visitors to its first open day of the year. The event proved to be a resounding success, drawing a significant turnout of eager parents,” Legacy House managing director Samantha Thomas said.
“Attendees were treated to an array of engaging activities meticulously planned by the school's dedicated teaching staff. From captivating science experiments crafted by the science department to lively language games prepared by language instructors, and stimulating math quizzes orchestrated by the math faculty - there was something for everyone to enjoy.”
Thomas added that promoting the prestige
of the occasion, Bitou Mayor Claude Terblanche also attended. “His attendance symbolized the official opening of Legacy House School, with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, signifying the commencement of Term 2 of the 2024 academic year and the registration process with the WCED.”
Thomas expressed her gratitude for all the support. “With the open day deemed a resounding success, Legacy House looks forward to continuing its mission of excellence in education with unwavering community support.”
