MAKE YOUR OWN TURMERIC OIL

Home-made turmeric oil has many health benefits and adds earthy flavours to roasted vegetables and salad dressings. Combine 1 cup coconut oil and a 2cm piece of fresh turmeric in a small saucepan. Simmer over a medium-low heat for 30 minutes or until the oil has a deep orange colour. Cool it to room temperatur­e, strain it, and refrigerat­e in an airtight container or jar for up to a week.
