Answering questions of uncertainty

-

Economic downgrades, Cabinet reshuffles, the outcome of the US elections, Brexit, and fluctuating exchange rates are all shocks we have witnessed that are signs and consequences of a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, according to Timothy Isabirye, senior manager, marketing and communications: Africa at CIMA.

“Are we fully prepared to address them? Are we sharing lessons learned on how to tackle uncertainty? Have we acknowledged that no amount of planning can equip us to adapt to these challenges? With the rate of change in technology and speed at which information is disseminated, are existing approaches and business models sufficient?” asks Isabirye.

He says business leaders also need to tackle corruption, education, governance, poverty, social and societal injustices, productivity, recessionary pressures, and pan-African growth and expansion strategies.

But are business leaders agile, flexible, responsive, decisive, and capable enough? Are the country’s executives relevant, innovative, dynamic and positioned to respond authentically?

Isabirye encourages business people to be a part of The CGMA Africa Inaugural conference from September 20-22 2017 in Johannesburg.

“You will be able to take advantage of and dialogue with prominent speakers and experts who are leading the way in defining new and exciting approaches to business strategy and the future of the economy within the uncertain, highly volatile and complex environment that is Africa,” says Isabirye.
