Rule of Three by Grip: Leading contemporary dancers from Flanders, Belgium, will perform in South Africa. Zoo by David J Brown: Everard Read presents a collection of wax and bronze sculptures and a series of linocut prints made by David J Brown from his time in Berlin. The works remain unfinished because he died in 2016. The exhibition Zoo, organised by his wife and brotherin-law Pippa and John Skotnes and artist Martin Wilson, reflects his desire “to understand what he saw as the very extremes of human experience — pain and cruelty, and beauty and freedom — and to find peace ... in the expansive space of the wilderness areas of the country he loved”. Under Cover of Darkness: By focusing on three women subjected to colonialism — namely Susanna of Bengal, Krotoa and an unknown slave — this exhibition tackles invisibility and asks how histories have been carried into the present. The exhibition is a partnership between the museum and the Centre for Curating the Archive at the University of Cape Town. It is curated by Carine Zaayman and produced by Josie Grindrod.
