New CAF president welcomed

-

The South African billionaire Patrice Motsepe is now seated in the highest position in African football after he was appointed the new president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Motsepe has already announced some of the standards he wants to be met during his four years of the presidency — and has promised that he will not continue after his four-year term if CAF does not show real progress. Motsepe wants an African country to take home the Fifa World Cup; he wants to see the Africa Cup of Nations implemented as a two-yearly tournament; he wants to increase the prize money at the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. We can agree to all of this. Welcome, Mr Motsepe, please save our football.
