Help Boko Haram victims

The United Nations is launching an appeal to help millions of people who are in need of humanitari­an assistance after being affected by Boko Haram activities in the north of Nigeria. The UN’S appeal amounts to $1-billion. The Islamist militant group has been carrying out violent attacks in the region for the past 11 years. Since the attacks started being tracked, millions of people have been displaced and 30 000 people have died. According to the UN, almost nine million people remain vulnerable.
