#March4justice in Australia

Protests across Australia saw thousands of women marching, voicing their concerns, and calling for change during a March For Justice on Monday. They demanded action to better protect women from abuse and harassment. Sounds familiar? Brittany Higgins, a former parliamentary staff member who was allegedly raped inside the Parliament House, addressed women outside the same building. Higgins described the global phenomenon of abuse against women not as a political problem, but a human problem. A petition signed by nearly 70 000 people was to be handed over to parliament. On the receiving end of the demands stood prime minister Scott Morrison, who refused to meet protesters outside parliament, rather suggesting a meeting on his own terms in his office, and not doing much to disprove that the voices of women are globally met with contempt.
