It’s not your oil

Lawyers acting for Somalia have concluded their submissions to the International Court of Justice, accusing Kenya of repeatedly violating its territorial integrity. Somalia has also accused Kenya of prospecting for oil in a disputed area and digging for oil north of the disputed border area. Additionally, Somalia alleges that Kenya admitted to licensing at least five companies to explore for oil in the area. Somalia has called for the licences to be revoked and for all prospecting to be stopped.
