2003 March: Telkom listed on the JSE

2005 April: Telkom announces Sizwe Nxasana’s resignatio­n 2006 September: Papi Molotsane becomes CEO

2007 March: Telkom acquires 75% stake in Nigerian private telecommun­ications operator, Multi-links.

April: Molotsane quits. Reuben September takes over

2009 January: Telkom acquires remaining 25% of Multi-links. May: Telkom disposes of its 50% share in mobile operator Vodacom. Share price plummets

2010 June: Telkom announces September’s retirement July: Jeffrey Hedberg becomes CEO

October: Telkom launches its mobile arm, 8ta

2011 January: Telkom announces Hedberg’s decision to step down as acting CEO

March: Telkom announces Pinky Moholi as CEO

April: Telkom announces decision to sell Multi-links, after the firm cost the South African operator over R5-billion in impairment­s

2013 March: 8ta becomes Telkom Mobile.

April: Sipho Maseko becomes CEO

2014 May: Telkom announces acquisitio­n of listed ICT firm Business Connexion.

December: Telkom shares rally to five-year high 2015 June: Telkom plans to cut almost

8 000 jobs amid restructur­ing

2018 May: Telkom announces turn to mobile and internet services as landline business takes knock. November: Telkom cuts 700 jobs

2019 May: Telkom reveals that it cut 2 000 jobs. June: Telkom acquires roaming and facilities leasing services from Vodacom

2020 September: Telkom overtakes Cell C as third-largest mobile operator

2021 July: Telkom announces Maseko will step down in 2022. August: Serame Taukobong announced as Maseko’s successor
