The commission serves a written notice on Jacob Zuma, reminding him that he is compelled to appear before the commission the following week and would be guilty of a criminal offence if he fails to do so.

No one is above the law, the Constituti­onal Court tells

Jacob Zuma.

The former president is ordered to comply with all summonses issued to him by the Zondo commission into state capture. He also does not have the right to remain silent during his appearance­s before the commission, the Constituti­onal Court rules.

Zuma sentenced to 15 months in prison for contempt of court.

The Constituti­onal Court, in a majority ruling, finds the former president in contempt of court and sentences him to prison for 15 months for violating the authority of the court.

8 July 2021

Zuma goes to prison.
