11 civilians killed in CAR
On Wednesday, as government forces fought armed groups in the Central African Republic, 11 civilians were killed by rebels. Six people were wounded. The country has been afflicted by conflict since 2013 when the president, François Bozize, was overthrown by a group of organised armed forces. Despite a subsequent election, parts of the country still remain under the control of armed groups. As of this month a curfew has been extended to protect citizens.
