Malaria vaccine for kids

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has endorsed the administering of the first malaria vaccine to children. The mosquito borne disease kills more than 400 000 people annually, most of those being children in Africa. “[Funding] will be the next major step,” said Kate O’brien, the director of the WHO’S department of immunisation, vaccines and biologicals. Then we will be set up for scaling of doses and decisions about where the vaccine will be most useful and how it will be deployed.”
