Woman PM for Eq Guinea
Manuela Roka Botey has become Equatorial Guinea’s first female prime minister after she was appointed by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. She has served as a vice-dean at the National University of Equatorial
Guinea in the past and since August 2020 was the minister of national education, university education and sports. Before Botey, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue held the position since 2016. Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue heralded the appointment as a confirmation of commitment to gender equality in the country.
