HAPPY BUNDLES IS BORN
As a young family with two beautiful young children, Daniel and Candice Kriel can look back on 2020, when Candice was given a devastating blow and diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, with a sense of relief that the year is finally over but the fight remains. Being young and healthy a lot of fear and uncertainty was felt amongst not only the immediate family but the extended family as well. Candice went on to have a double mastectomy earlier in the year, enduring chemotherapy and radiation amongst her treatment. They never gave up hope and their family played a huge role throughout this period, as well as friends and doctors.
“During my time of treatment, I was shocked and surprised by the number of young people and children I saw receiving treatment for cancer. The most difficult and saddening part was seeing or reading stories of what these cancer patients were going through – physically and emotionally” From seeing how many other people worldwide were in a similar position and fighting cancer like I was, almost gave me a recalling to try and make a difference, and how special it would be to see a child’s face light up with joy when they received a gift. Amidst all the pain, Happy Bundles came to fruition, a non-profit organisation that brings a life changing moment of joy to those children with cancer.
The precious and priceless moment of seeing parents and grandparents light up when the faces of their little ones beam with joy and excitement at receiving a gift, is reward enough for the Kriels, in their quest to continue their charity. Daniel and Candice are appealing to the public for support in order to make a difference to give back what cancer has taken away.
The non-profit organisation is looking for donations from the public in order for them to purchase gifts, giving a reason for these children to smile. They are also looking to team up with organisations or companies that could assist in making children’s dreams come true, from a helicopter ride, to something as simple as riding a horse, or swimming with the dolphins, anything would be appreciated. Daniel and Candice Kriel are inviting you to share their journey, spreading awareness that cancer affects children to and through gifts, bringing joy into their lives.
