Carter’s achiever in disbelief
“I still can’t believe it; it was very shocking,” said Lwandile Duma (17), who achieved seven As in his matric results.
The Carter High School learner said that he is still in disbelief over receiving the results he did.
He achieved As in Mathematics, English, Life Orientation, isiZulu First Additional Language, Accounting, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
Lwandile has applied for the following study options at University of Witwatersrand to study actuarial science, medicine or engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
He said that it was important to have a balance between school and time to have a rest.
“It is important to have a study timetable and role models that we follow. It is important to be motivated. In my free time, I used to rap and write songs because I love music. I also used to exercise as much as I could. This helped me strike a balance. Role models help in our low points. For me it is still a shock that I have done this well,” said Lwandile.
