Project Gateway school needs new toilet block

Project Gateway Christian School is in desperate need of an upgrade to their toilet block. The school has grown tremendous­ly over the last 20 years and has outgrown their ablution facilities.

They have set up a fund-raising appeal to raise the R35 000 needed to upgrade the toilet block that was first built in the 1990s, made possible by a generous donation.

“The school has grown from 10 children, when started in 1993 as Riverside Christian Preschool, to a capacity of 400. Our maximum capacity is 500, but last year, due to Covid-19, we had 340 learners,” said the Project Gateway’s marketing manager, Ursuhla Govender.

“In the 1990s, we were delighted to receive a donation that enabled the building of six classrooms with a toilet block near the administra­tion block. With the growth of the school over the past 20 years, the toilet block needs a serious revamp and upgrade in order to keep up with the demands of the ever growing school.”
