Project Gateway school needs new toilet block

Project Gateway Christian School is in desperate need of an upgrade to their toilet block. The school has grown tremendously over the last 20 years and has outgrown their ablution facilities.

They have set up a fund-raising appeal to raise the R35 000 needed to upgrade the toilet block that was first built in the 1990s, made possible by a generous donation.

“The school has grown from 10 children, when started in 1993 as Riverside Christian Preschool, to a capacity of 400. Our maximum capacity is 500, but last year, due to Covid-19, we had 340 learners,” said the Project Gateway’s marketing manager, Ursuhla Govender.

“In the 1990s, we were delighted to receive a donation that enabled the building of six classrooms with a toilet block near the administration block. With the growth of the school over the past 20 years, the toilet block needs a serious revamp and upgrade in order to keep up with the demands of the ever growing school.”
