Young beauty makes Miss Teen SA finals

- Jade le Roux

Local teenager Michelle Greene (15) is overjoyed at being named a finalist for the Miss Teen SA pageant taking place this October.

Michelle started modelling last year. “I’ve always loved modelling and it has been so much fun to be involved in it over the last year. I have learnt so much,” she said.

This is the second time she has entered the pageant. Last year, she entered and came in the top 20 for the Miss Teen category and top 30 for the Miss Petite SA category.

She entered again this year to see if she could go further and was “overcome with joy” to reach the finals in the pageant this time around. She is calling on her community to take her even further with the help of their votes.

Michelle attends Jo’s Finish Line Modelling School and says what she loves most about modelling is meeting new people, the fashion and learning how to do make-up. “It’s hard work, but I really enjoy it,” she added.

As part of the pageant, Michelle is involved in a number of outreach projects, including assisting with community food drives and soup kitchens as well as volunteering at Chase Valley Veterinary Clinic.

Michelle would like to use the platform the pageant provides to raise awareness around diabetes, after growing up with an older brother who has the disease.

Michelle would like to pursue modelling professionally and hopes to make a career out of it, however, she would also like to be a doctor.

You can help Michelle claim the crown by voting for her. To vote, SMS the code TSA410 to 47018. SMSs do incur a charge.
