OC & Olympic swimmer Martin Binedell shares his post-College journey
Martin Binedell (back centre) is one of our College Old Boys who has followed through on his goals and ambitions and achieved international status as a South African swimmer. He visited College this week and spoke to boys and staff, sharing some of his post-College journey.
Martin matriculated in 2013 as a prefect from College, with 6As, and just a few years later, was competing at an international level. A Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Africa Games and African Champs record holder, Martin also competed in the men’s 200 metre backstroke event at the Summer Olympics. He is also a Lifesaving World Champs medallist and national record holder. Not content with just his swimming achievements, Martin has found time to continue his studies and obtained a degree in marketing management with distinction.
