Community Chest also supports its Community Impact Partners with Donations-in-Kind

-

Thanks to the generous donation from our sister organisation, the Community Chest (Western Cape) together with pharmaceutical company, Johnson & Johnson, the PMB & District Community made a clean start to 2022, by distributing soap to some of its Community Impact

Partners (CIPs) for the benefit of those whom they serve in our community.

Other CIPs who also benefited from this donation of soap are Abrina Esther House, Dlalanathi, Ekhaya Lethemba (PMB Child & Famil Welfare), Emuseni

Centre (for the aged), Ethembeni HIV & Aids Ministry, Greytown Childrens Home, Howick

Hospice, Isabel Beardmore Home, Jabulani Crèche, Msunduzi Hospice, Msuduzi Hospice, Mama Ntombi Community Projects,

New Zion Church, Open Gate Special School, Pietermaritzburg Children Home, Red Cross

Society, Thandanani Children's Foundation, The Benjamin Generation (orphanage), SAVF Old Age Home, SOS Children’s Village, SAVF Kalinka Educare and Alston Primary School. Thanks to other generous donors, some of our CIPs also received feminine hygiene products, clothing, food hampers, vitamin supplements and shoes.

It’s almost two years since we first encountered the Covid-19 pandemic and its deathly impact on our lives, homes, work and community. Some of the good work done by the Community Chest over many years was sadly eroded within a short time of two years. But, we continue to rise, no matter how many times we may fall! The Community Chest is looking forward to 2022 as the year in which we pick up the pieces and set about to once again “enhance communities – restore hope”.

The Thandanani Children’s

Foundation facilitates community based care and support for orphans and other vulnerable children in KwaZulu-Natal. They have a well-established system of community based care and support for orphans and their families that involves responding to the basic material, physical, cognitive and emotional needs of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).

For the 2021/22 financial year, Community Chest has pledged to financially assist Thandanani Children’s Foundation with an amount of R75 000 over and above any further support through Donations in-Kind. A big “Thank You” to those donors who are helping the Community Chest honour this pledge to Thandanani Children’s Foundation.
