A familiar face joins Capital Newspapers

-

Wendy Clarke has just joined the advertising department here at the Capital Media Group, and will be specialising in Features and Supplements in the Pietermaritzburg and KZN Midlands areas.

Wendy has some history with newspapers. Some of our readers might remember that from 2009 to 2018, Wendy published her own newspaper, the Drakonteur, which was printed by our printers, Guardian Web, and distributed into the KZN Midlands and Southern Berg areas. She is also no stranger to the Caxton Group, having worked as advertising manager for the Zululand Observer in the early 90s.

In 2017, Wendy co-founded the Drakondale Girls Choir School (now known as Drakondale School of the Arts). In April 2021, she left due to several changes in her personal life, and has been running a small publishing company, writing memoirs for folks.

Why the change?

When asked about the change, Wendy said that newspapers has always been her biggest love, and she just feels it is time to concentrate her efforts more solidly in this field again. “I am a person who likes to be busy,” she added. “The memoir writing is just not keeping me busy enough, and advertising is really just telling people’s stories in a way that makes the public want to interact.”

Why Capital Media?

“I believe that Capital Media has the most extensive marketing reach available. With over 130 000 newspapers being distributed into Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands areas, I don’t think anyone else can come close. And if we can help them further target their advertising through special features and supplements, we will not only be reaching their potential clients – but those potential clients will be listening.”

“I can’t wait to reconnect with all my old customers. Please invite me for coffee so we can catch up. I’m available in the office at Capital Media on 033 390 3344 or on my cell: 083 661 5044.”
