Pop-up portraits at Tatham this week

-

Pop by Tatham Art Gallery this week and get your portrait painted by Durban artist Sakhile Mhlongo.

As part of the Tatham's artist in residence programme, Mhlongo, who is the resident artist in the programme, will be available to paint portraits of the public at the gallery from Wednesday, April 6, to Friday, April 8, from 10am to 4pm.

For a nominal fee, Mhlongo will draw or paint your portrait either in a sitting, or from a photograph you supply. A deposit will be required, and portraits will be finished within 24 hours. Each person wishing to acquire a portrait from the artist should bring a photograph. The finished A4 art work will be unframed, and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to acquire a frame. Those who would like to sit for the artist, are required to book a slot.

Mhlongo's pop-up portraits were a huge hit in March, and so the gallery decided to host the pop-up portrait sessions again. So don't miss out on this second chance.

Booking is essential. For queries, contact 033 392 2823. Or email reena.bhoodram@ msunduzi.gov.za or bryony. clark@msunduzi.gov.za
