Do not miss the rugby action this Saturday
After two years of no tournament, the KZN Rugby Veterans Association are thrilled to announce the 19th annual Friendship Games will be held this Saturday, April 9, at Woodburn Stadium.
This year, 24 teams will be participating, comprising 22 men's teams and two women's teams. This is the first time since the inception of the tournament that women's teams will be hosted and they will be playing a sevens curtain raiser, hopefully encouraging more women to become involved in the sports.
The teams participating are: From Pietermaritzburg - Young Lions RFC, Obejhang, UKZN and DUT. From Durban: Jaguars RFC, Clemont RFC, Kwantu Spears, Mangosuthu RFC, Bears RFC, Amabhubesi, Inkulu RFC, Mighty Buffaloes, Ogwini RFC, Ushaka Warriors; and the rest are Amangcesha (Port Shepstone), Drakensberg RFC (Winterton), Greytown RFC (Greytown) Cedara RFC (Midlands), Howick
Eagles (Howick), Nagel Dam RFC (Cato Ridge) and Flying Eagles (Bergville).
The KZN Rugby Veterans Association, as always, would like to thank their amazing sponsors: Stihl SA, Clover SA, Msundusi Eyethu and Capital Newspapers, and City Printing Works for the continued support throughout the years.
Registration will take place on Saturday from 7am to 7.30am and games start at 8am sharp.
