After two years of no tournament, the KZN Rugby Veterans Associatio­n are thrilled to announce the 19th annual Friendship Games will be held this Saturday, April 9, at Woodburn Stadium.

This year, 24 teams will be participat­ing, comprising 22 men's teams and two women's teams. This is the first time since the inception of the tournament that women's teams will be hosted and they will be playing a sevens curtain raiser, hopefully encouragin­g more women to become involved in the sports.

The teams participat­ing are: From Pietermari­tzburg - Young Lions RFC, Obejhang, UKZN and DUT. From Durban: Jaguars RFC, Clemont RFC, Kwantu Spears, Mangosuthu RFC, Bears RFC, Amabhubesi, Inkulu RFC, Mighty Buffaloes, Ogwini RFC, Ushaka Warriors; and the rest are Amangcesha (Port Shepstone), Drakensber­g RFC (Winterton), Greytown RFC (Greytown) Cedara RFC (Midlands), Howick

Eagles (Howick), Nagel Dam RFC (Cato Ridge) and Flying Eagles (Bergville).

Registrati­on will take place on Saturday from 7am to 7.30am and games start at 8am sharp.
