Learn to make floral masterpieces

-

The Pietermaritzburg and Districts Floral Club is keen to welcome new members to its monthly meetings.

After a Covid-19 enforced break, the organisation reconvened in October last year and continues to meet at 9am for 9.30am on the first Thursday of every month at the Methodist Church Hall, Elizabeth Drive (opposite Grace College), Hilton.

Spend a relaxing morning looking at exquisite floral demonstrations, or learn a new floral technique by joining a creative workshop. Participants can also enjoy a sociable cup of tea and cake.

The club held its 28th annual general meeting in March, during which Margaret Lake, the outgoing chairperson, was thanked for her 21 years of dedicated commitment as secretary, and then chairperson. It was an amazing and unrepeatable innings.

Jen Howson has taken over the reins as the new chairperson. Pam Harris, from Amber Valley, was the demonstrator, who enthralled members with her simple but very effective arrangements in glorious shades of blue and yellow, in support of Ukraine.

For inquiries, contact Jen Howson on 082 904 2286 or Suzanne Nicol on 082 680 9004.
