Providing the building blocks for infrastructure

-

B& E International, which has been in the supply and production of industrial minerals, as well as all sand and aggregate products, for the last 50 years, has just opened a commercial quarry on the northern outskirts of Pietermaritzburg.

Driving 13km north from Pietermaritzburg along the R33 toward Greytown, Thandisizwe Quarry, as it is known, can be found on the right-hand side of the road. Thandisizwe Quarry provides aggregate and other building materials at competitive rates to all construction and building projects, supporting the development and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the surrounding area, including some of the major upgrades, and work being undertaken on road and highway infrastructure.

Our products, being sand and stone, produced for various applications, are essential to the improvement of living standards as it is utilised in the construction and development of all manner of infrastructure, such as housing, road networks, sewage systems, bridges, water supply networks, railways, schools, shops, townships and hospitals. 94% of a typical road consists of crushed aggregate, and around 80% of concrete is comprised of aggregate. Life as we know it, will not be possible without materials such as these.

While the demand for products such as ours is ever-changing, we aim to build a future through innovation, providing superior service and cooperation with the businesses and communities in our area.

Our surrounding communities have limited job opportunities and we are already engaged in their upliftment by creating job opportunities in various sectors of labour, transport and other related industries. Many of the surrounding remote areas will also benefit from improved access. Please refer to our advert on page three for more information.
