Yoga for Alice

-

In February 2006, Alice Richter died in a horrific truck accident on the N3, with her father Tony.

Alice lived most of her life on the Hilton College Estate, where Tony was a teacher and sports coach.

It was here in her late twenties that she discovered yoga and its great benefits, both physical and spiritual. She devoted her final years to its teachings and practice, sharing her gift with many around her – a priceless legacy.

The Hilton Arts Festival was very much a part of her life too, since it took place on her home ground. Theatre and the arts brought her great joy through her school years and beyond.

In her honour, Ntando Ngubane, a close friend to Alice, and a fellow yoga practitioner and teacher will offer mindful beginner yoga sessions during the festival.

You are invited to honour Alice and experience the gift of yoga with Ntando, and enjoy its benefits, for body and soul.

Bring a mat, and find Ntando at the Sundial (behind the ZAR Comedy tent). If the weather is not kind, enquire on arrival at the information tent for the alternative venue.

Times for the sessions: Friday at 3:30pm; Saturday at 9am, 1pm and 3:30pm; and Sunday at 9am and 1pm.

There is no set charge for the session, however, as would have been her wish, donations are welcomed and will go to two of Alice’s chosen NGOs: Singakwenza, based in Hilton and Angel’s Care in Howick.
