Mintirho ya Vulavula
Mmileng recently visited several villages in the Moletjie area to hear what road users and community members had to say about Roads Agency Limpopo newly upgraded road project from Moletjie to Makgodu. Story on page 29.
The road is going to improve the life span of our vehicles. Banks give us four years to pay up these taxis, but our vehicles did not even last three years, which posed a challenge. Our vehicles will now last beyond the four years. The road has also shortened our route duration from one hour to 30 minutes, because we used to take either the long route via Moletjie or go through the slower gravel road.
Alpheus ‘Ally’ Mokgohloa, Public Transport Operator, from Moletjie, Ga-Ramphele
The road has helped us in a lot of ways. We are happy that road infrastructure is now reaching the villages. This shows that the economy is growing. This will also help improve the life span of local taxis and private vehicles in the community.

Makgodu tar road is a quality road. We thank RAL for bringing the tar road to Makgodu. This will reduce traffic accidents at Makgodu gate, which used to have high accident rate, because now there are clear road markings.
Mpho Kekana, Taxi Driver (Makgodu), from Moletjie, Ga-Ramongwana
The main road from Makgodu towards Moletjie has attracted businesses like salons and car washes alongside this main road, which are next to my very own small business. This means more traffic and more business for me as well. I am happy with what Roads Agency Limpopo has delivered.
Tlou Sehata, Small Business Owner, from Moletjie, Makgodu
The local community no longer has problems with public transport. There are more taxis on the route to town because the road is now quality. If only they can help us with extra speed humps at the right places…because the current ones are not sufficient.
