Mmileng

Note from the Editor

- MR MAROPENG MANYATHELA, RAL’s Head of Communications

Well well well! Yet another exciting and intriguing edition of your most favourite corporate read, Mmileng is brought to you by Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL). An organisation that continues to ensure that the children of Limpopo are able to reach their schools with ease and our parents are enabled to reach their various work places within a short distance.

RAL is not just about the mortar and physical structure the Agency builds but about the bigger picture of developing the economy of the Province. It should be an open secret that the three important pillars of any economy, tourism, mining and agriculture can not be realised without proper and surfaced roads. That’s how important road infrastructure is to the people of South Africa.

It therefore makes sense to keep pleading to all residents of Limpopo to work together with the government of Limpopo, in particular, RAL to make Limpopo a desirable destination.

Given the many milestones such as the recent national elections resulting into another State of the Nation Address and ultimately State of the Province Address, the second edition of the quarter could not be published and therefore this edition of Mmileng will serve as that of the 3rd quarter. Given the high level events such as elections, we could not ignore their significance and therefore had to delay and ensure that they are properly covered.

In this packed edition, we bring you features of some of the construction projects RAL has recently completed, which also serve as poof of the good work the Agency does. The Agency has recently completed more than 50km of road in the Waterberg District, Lephalale and Mopani District, Babangu, Ga Maphalle Villages. These projects will immensely ease the movements of the motorists and reduce the travelling distances of many residents.

In his recent address to the people of Limpopo, the Honourable Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Mathabatha reiterated his

call to the residents of Limpopo to exercise some patience. “roads are coming to you”, he pleaded. His call does not only show leadership but also, a government working with the people for a collective gain.

The leadership of RAL, CEO and Chairperson of the Board, in this edition are also amplifying the Premier’s call for all stakeholders to join hands, thoughts and work together to make Limpopo a drivable province.

In recent weeks, RAL CEO has been engaging various district municipalities to encourage and plead for integrated future planning. Through these important engagements, stakeholders continue to find collective solutions to the road infrastructure problems of Limpopo.

This edition also exposes some of the good work done as a gesture to celebrate the life and times of the former President, Nelson Mandela. It is through emotional events such as those celebrating the ICON’s life that I realise how important it is to touch someone else’s life. A fulfilling moment indeed. Added to our usual personality feature, Mintirho is another real time news feature. Through this feature, we and our valued stakeholders are able to get a feel of how the people we serve really feel about the work we do. Here, we go to the lower level of the communities to find out what we can do better with them. I must say that since the introduction of Mintirho Ya Vulavula, we have received honest views and are working hard to improve on many aspects of our business.

We continue to receive valuable, much needed feedback through our social media platforms, in particular facebook and twitter. Through these platforms, we are able to reach a considerable number of people and provide them with the up to date information about the work we do. It is therefore a fair thing to appreciate the support we get from our stakeholders. Through their views, we can improve on how we do business. Thank you and thank you for your valuable contribution.

Lets keep working together for better roads.
