MOVIES AT THE MONROE
In honour of British novelist, Kazuo Ishiguro, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature this month, the Monroe Theatre is screening The Remains of the Day, a film which was nominated for eight Oscars. Starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson, it was based on one of Ishiguro's novels. A butler (Hopkins) sacrifices body and soul to service in the years leading up to World War II, only to realise how misguided his loyalty was to his lordly employer. All women diagnosed with breast cancer, women living with earlier breast cancer diagnoses or family members of breast cancer sufferers are invited to a support group morning tea in Dana Bay on 25 October at 10:00. SEEBRIES HOU BASAAR
Die ACVV Seebries-tehuise hou op 3 November 'n basaar. Die basaar begin om 08:00 by die ACVV Seebries Ons Huis, in Montagustraat 114, Mosselbaai. Die ACVV vra die gemeenskap en belangstellendes om die tehuis te ondersteun en die volgende skenkings te maak: witolifant-items, klere, vars gebak, skaapvleis, lekkers en groente. GOSPEL SHOW
The Lighthouse Assemblies of God will be hosting a gospel show on 5 November at 15:00. A variety of gospel singers will perform. Entrance is R20 for adults and R12 for children under 12 years of age.
